Manganese acetate is an organic substance, the chemical formula is (CH3COO)2Mn, light red transparent monoclinic crystal, soluble in water and alcohol, mainly as a catalyst for polyester chips and PTA production, and is also used in different reactions, vinyl ester synthesis and polymerization reactions, can also be used for leather tanning and dishwashing chips, can also be used as paints, coatings desiccant, printing and dyeing mordants, feed additives, etc.
Application
Manganese acetate is used as a catalyst for polyester chips and PTA production. It is also used in different reactions, oxidation and other reactions, vinyl ester synthesis and polymerization reactions. It can also be used for leather tanning and dishwashing tablets, and can also be used as a desiccant for paints and coatings, printing and dyeing mordants, feed additives, etc.
1.Application in industrial acetic acid production:In the production of industrial acetic acid, acetaldehyde was used as raw material, manganese acetate as a catalyst, and the production route was oxidized with oxygen or air. The mechanism of acetaldehyde oxidation to produce acetic acid is divided into four parts: activation of manganese acetate, initiation of chains, transfer of chains, and termination of chains.
2.Application in the degradation of waste plastics:Niu Junfeng et al. studied the process conditions of high-temperature liquid-phase catalytic oxidative degradation of waste polyethylene and polypropylene plastics. With acetic acid as the solvent, cobalt acetate and manganese acetate as the main catalysts, and bromide as the co-catalyst, the polyethylene and polypropylene were oxidized with air at a certain temperature and pressure, and the product components of polyethylene and polypropylene after oxidation and degradation were detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, and the CO and CO concentrations in the tail gas were detected by infrared online analyzer. The results showed that the MC catalytic system showed high catalytic activity in the degradation of PE and PP, and the main products of PE and PP degradation were oxalic acid and acetic acid.
3.Manganese divalent acetate can also be used as a catalyst for acetaldehyde oxidation or fiber dyeing oxidation, and can also be used as a desiccant for paints and coatings, printing and dyeing mordants, feed additives, etc.
